Supports JPG, JPEG (max 10MB each, up to 20 files)
⚡ PNG is lossless: every pixel of the JPEG is kept, so the file can come out larger than the JPG you started with. There is no quality dial here on purpose - the browser's canvas encoder exposes no PNG compression setting, so a slider would have been decorative, not functional. If you need a smaller PNG, resize it here first or use the Image Compressor on a JPEG/WebP output.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Jpg To Png.

About the Jpg To Png Tool

Convert your lossy JPEG images into high-quality, lossless PNG files with the ToolFlic JPG to PNG converter. This tool is essential when you need to preserve image quality for subsequent editing or when you require support for transparent layers. Our converter handles the color space transition perfectly, ensuring that every pixel is preserved with maximum fidelity.

Core Advantages

PNGs are the standard for web graphics that require crisp edges and alpha-channel transparency. Converting to PNG allows you to work with your images in professional design suites without the cumulative quality loss associated with multiple JPEG saves. It's fast, reliable, and completely private.

Architecture & Security

We use the browsers native ImageBitmap and Canvas encoding APIs to ensure that the conversion process is 100% accurate. Since the process is purely client-side, your images are converted at bus-speed without any network overhead.

Under the Hood: the Jpg To Png explained properly

No marketing filler - just the mechanics, the trade-offs and the real limits, explained clearly.

How it actually works

Drop up to 20 JPG files, each under 10MB. Every file is decoded by the browser, painted to a canvas at full native size and re-encoded as PNG, which is a lossless format: the encoder stores the exact pixel values it was handed and compresses them with deflate, without discarding any information to save space.

Optional width and height fields let you resample during the same pass, so you do not need a second trip through the resizer. When you convert more than one image, the Download as ZIP button packages everything with JSZip into a single archive.

What that means for your results

There is no quality dial in a JPG to PNG conversion, because there is nothing to trade: PNG output is bit-exact for the pixels it received. What changes is file size, and PNG will usually be larger than the JPG it came from, sometimes several times larger for photographs, because lossless packing cannot exploit the perceptual tricks a lossy encoder uses.

The reason to make the jump anyway is editability. Once a JPG has been saved, its block boundaries are baked in; re-saving it repeatedly compounds that damage. A PNG is immune to that generation loss, so it is the correct place to store anything you will touch again.

Where it falls short - honestly

Converting to PNG does not undo what the JPG already lost. Ringing around text, mushy gradients and 8x8 blocking are part of the pixel data, and a lossless container preserves them faithfully rather than repairing them. If the goal is a smaller file, PNG is the wrong direction: use JPG to WebP or Image Compressor.

Files above 10MB each are refused, and photographs converted to PNG can grow beyond the limits of the destination you are uploading to, so always check the output weight.

A real end-to-end workflow

The common job is a working master: take a compressed JPG, convert it here, then edit or annotate it, and only re-export a JPG for delivery. Text-heavy images, screenshots, logos on a light background and anything that will pass through several edits all benefit from that pattern.

If the final need is transparency for a web layout, remember that a JPG has no alpha channel to recover; convert it in Background Remover to knock out the background before you save the PNG.
