EXIF Remover & Photo Metadata Viewer
See exactly what your photo hides - camera, GPS location, date, owner - then strip it all. Runs 100% in your browser; the image never leaves your device.
Click to upload or drag & drop JPEG photos
Supports .jpg / .jpeg (max 15MB each, up to 20 photos). Nothing is uploaded - parsing happens on this page.โจ Free Premium Features
Every strip writes a fresh JPEG with the entire EXIF/GPS block removed - camera, owner, timestamps and location all go. Removal always happens; the suffix only controls the saved name.
How to Use EXIF Remover
Follow these simple steps to get the best results.
Add your JPEG photos
Click or drag .jpg and .jpeg files in - each is read locally and its metadata is parsed on the page, never uploaded.
See what is hidden
Expand the field list to view camera make and model, capture date, owner and any embedded GPS coordinates, with a red warning when a location is found.
Strip and download
Press Strip to delete the whole metadata block, then save the clean photo - or run Strip All to process the batch.
Use the free premium features
Open the Free Premium Features panel to set a custom output filename suffix and grab the cleaned set as a single ZIP.

About the EXIF Remover Tool
The ToolFlic EXIF Remover reads the metadata stored inside a JPEG photo and lets you remove it before you share the file. Phones, cameras and drones often write exact GPS coordinates, the capture time, the make and model and sometimes the owner name straight into the image, and once you post the original anyone can read it. This tool parses every field on your device, highlights a location if one is present, and strips the whole metadata block with piexifjs. Removal edits only the metadata segment, so the picture itself is unchanged and there is no quality loss. Premium features include a custom output filename suffix, batch strip and a single ZIP download.
Core Advantages
Share photos without leaking where they were taken or who took them. Everything runs client-side, so there is no upload queue and no server ever holds your pictures. Stripping is lossless - you get the same image with the private fields gone - and a whole folder of JPEGs can be cleaned and downloaded in one archive.
Architecture & Security
Reading and removal use piexifjs, which parses and rewrites the JPEG APP1 EXIF segment directly without decoding the image, so the picture data is preserved exactly while GPS, camera, timestamp and owner fields are deleted. Metadata is read from the file bytes on your device; the only network dependency is the one-time load of the piexifjs script from jsDelivr and JSZip from cdnjs, both fetched without cookies.

Under the Hood: the EXIF Remover explained properly
No marketing filler - just the mechanics, the trade-offs and the real limits, explained clearly.
How it actually works
It inspects and removes the metadata block stored inside JPEG files, entirely in the browser. When you add a photo it is read as a data URL and handed to piexifjs, which parses the APP1 EXIF segment and returns the 0th, Exif, GPS and Interop directories as tag entries, each a type-and-value pair. The tool walks those directories, resolves every numeric tag id to a human name through the library TAGS tables, formats the raw values - ASCII strings, integers, rationals for shutter and exposure, and degree-minute-second rationals converted to decimal coordinates - and prints them as grouped tables.
Removal calls the piexifjs remove function, which deletes the APP1 EXIF marker from the JPEG byte stream and writes the remaining image back out. Because it edits the container rather than re-encoding pixels, the picture data is unchanged and no quality is lost.
A card is built per file showing a live risk summary, a red chip when GPS is present plus detected camera, capture date and owner, and each cleaned file can be downloaded alone, in one bulk pass, or as a single ZIP packed with JSZip.
Nothing is uploaded: parsing and rewriting happen on your device, and the only network use is the one-time CDN load of the piexifjs and JSZip scripts.
Premium features: a custom output filename suffix applied to every cleaned file, batch strip of up to twenty photos in one click, and a one-download ZIP of the whole cleaned set.
What that means for your results
Tag names come from the EXIF standard tables and unrecognised tags are still listed by their numeric id rather than hidden, so the report is honest about what the file contains. GPS coordinates are decoded from their degree-minute-second rationals with the N-S-E-W reference applied, rounded to six decimal places, and a map link lets you confirm the location before you remove it.
Where it falls short - honestly
It handles JPEG only, and PNG, WebP, TIFF and HEIC store metadata differently and are not read or stripped here, so the file input rejects them. Progressive and unusual JPEGs can occasionally fail to parse, in which case the photo is shown as unreadable rather than altered. Removal deletes the EXIF block but a file can still carry other markers such as an ICC colour profile or an XMP packet, which this container-level strip does not target. Because the libraries load from a CDN, the page needs a connection the first time it is opened.
A real end-to-end workflow
Add the JPEGs you are about to publish, open each field list to see exactly what is embedded, note whether a GPS location or your name appears, then strip and download the cleaned copies - individually for one shot or as a ZIP for a whole shoot. After cleaning, resize or shrink the safe copy with Image Resizer or Image Compressor, and for iPhone originals stored as HEIC convert first with HEIC Converter.
