HTTP Status Checker
Fetch a URL through public gateways to read its real HTTP status code, response time and content type - and know exactly when a browser cannot see the code.
📊 Result
0. This tool therefore tries public gateways in
order - AllOrigins JSON (returns the origin's real http_code, content type and size), then CodeTabs and
cors.lol (content only) - and finally a direct request. A gateway's own error page is rejected rather than passed off
as your site's answer. Every result is labelled with the source that produced it, so you can tell a
verified status code from "reachable but not readable". Public gateways are rate-limited and often down; when none
answer, the tool says so instead of inventing a code. Redirects are followed by the gateway, so the code
reported is the final response, and it also reports the URL that finally answered. How to Use Http Status Checker
Follow these simple steps to get the best results.
Enter one URL
Type the address to test — the https:// prefix is added for you if you leave it off.
Run the check
Click Check Status. The tool works through public CORS gateways in order and shows which source it is trying, because a browser cannot read a cross-origin status code on its own.
Read the labelled result
A verified code (200, 301, 404, 500 and so on) is shown with its plain-language meaning, the final URL that answered, content type and elapsed time — or the page tells you the code was not exposed.

About the Http Status Checker Tool
Confirm how a server actually answers before you debug a redirect, a 404 or a failed integration. The ToolFlic HTTP Status Checker fetches a single URL through public CORS gateways and reports the real status code with a plain-language explanation, the URL that finally answered, the content type, the reported size and the elapsed time. Just as important, it is honest about the limits: when no gateway exposes a code but the connection still completes, the page says "reachable, code not exposed" instead of inventing a 200.
Core Advantages
Catch server-side errors before your users do, verify that removed pages really return 404 or 410, and confirm where a redirect finally lands. Every result names the source that produced it, so you know whether you are holding a verified status code or an honest "not readable" answer — the difference matters when you are diagnosing a live site.
Architecture & Security
A browser cannot read the status code of a cross-origin page: such a response arrives opaque, with status 0. This tool therefore fetches the URL through public proxies in order — AllOrigins (JSON, which returns the origin's real http_code, content type and length) then CodeTabs (content only) — and falls back to a direct no-cors request purely to test reachability. Elapsed time is measured with the Performance API and includes the gateway detour. The URL you enter is sent to those third-party gateways; nothing is stored on our servers.
Under the Hood: the Http Status Checker explained properly
No marketing filler — just the mechanics, the trade-offs and the real limits, explained clearly.
How it actually works
A browser cannot read the status code of a cross-origin page, because such a response arrives opaque with status 0, so the code comes from public gateways instead. AllOrigins in JSON form is tried first because it reports the real status code, content type and length of the origin; raw pass-throughs such as CodeTabs and cors.lol return content but not the code. A gateway error page is rejected rather than mistaken for the target.
The tool reports exactly three honest states. When a gateway exposes a code, it shows HTTP n with a plain-language meaning for that code. When content arrives but no gateway reveals a status, it says reachable but code not exposed instead of inventing a 200. When nothing answers, and a final direct opaque request also fails, it reports no connection. Progress reflects the real number of gateway attempts, not an animation.
Elapsed time is measured with the Performance API around the whole round trip, so the figure includes the gateway detour rather than a theoretical direct fetch, and every result names the source that produced it.
What that means for your results
The three-state contract is the point: a number is only shown when it was actually read, and the difference between a verified code and an opaque-but-successful fetch is stated rather than blurred. Redirect destination, content type and reported size appear when the JSON gateway supplies them, and nothing is filled in when it does not.
Where it falls short — honestly
This is a single-URL check through third-party relays, not a monitoring system and not a test run from Google. The code you see is what the gateway observed on its own request; a site that serves different content to datacentre IPs may answer differently than it does to a visitor, and timing includes the gateway hop so it is not a clean latency number.
The URL you enter is sent to those public gateways. They are rate-limited and often down, so a failure to read a code is a limitation of this page rather than proof the site is offline; for an authoritative status, check the server logs or Search Console.
A real end-to-end workflow
Use it to confirm a redirect really lands where you expect, that a removed page returns 404 or 410 rather than a soft 200, or that an endpoint is up before you debug an integration, then note whether you hold a verified code or an honest not-readable answer.
To look at the indexability signals of a page rather than its transport status, use Google Index Checker; to find dead links across a whole site, Broken Link Checker crawls every link and reports its status.
